Family Newsletter

February 15, 2026
Dear Momauguin Families,

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend! This is a reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17 in observance of Presidents Day and our brief winter recess. We look forward to welcoming students back Wednesday, refreshed and ready to learn. Wednesday and Thursday this week will be early dismissal for conferences. Students dismiss at 1:15 pm. Please be sure to arrange for someone to meet students earlier at the bus stop.

Recently, our Kindness Council visited neighbors in the community and delivered Valentine’s Day care packages to their doorsteps. The outreach we have received from community members has been heartwarming. Many shared how much the gesture truly made their day. Random acts of kindness make a lasting impact, and we are so proud of our students for spreading joy beyond our school walls. Thank you to Ms. Topp and Ms. Villano for organizing this meaningful experience.

Thank you as well to all the families who attended Family Fun Paint Night hosted by Mr. O’Brian and the Momauguin School PTO. It was wonderful to see so many families creating, laughing, and spending time together. Be sure to check out some of the photos below!

We are excited to continue offering opportunities to connect as a school community. Please mark your calendars for:
  • Literacy Night – March 5
  • Family Folk Dance Fun – March 23

Thank you for being such an important part of the Momauguin School community. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

In partnership,
Julie Oca Church
Principal
Momauguin Elementary School

Superintendent's Reading Challenge

The Superintendent's Spring Reading Challenge has begun.
Please record the books your child reads and return Reading Logs to school as requested by the classroom teacher. Some classes have weekly logs and others are collected monthly. We love to celebrate their hard work and participation.

Spring Reading Challenge highlights:

  • Students will read and track books through May 1, 2026.
  • Students will submit their total number of books read.
  • During the month of May, the Superintendent will announce student winners and award a grade-level class trophy.
  • The classroom in each grade level across the district that reads the most books will earn an Ice Cream Social (dates to be determined).

Thank you for your continued partnership in encouraging reading at home. We are proud of our readers and look forward to another exciting challenge this spring.
